Amalia Castaneda, APCC, is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who obtained her Masters in Educational Counseling with a Concentration in School and Family Based Counseling from the University of La Verne. Amalia provides therapeutic services in our Valencia location and is available for in-person or telehealth appointments. She works with adolescents, teens, and young adults who are experiencing a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, and adjustment problems. In addition, Amalia has a great deal of experience working in public education, which is such a wonderful asset to her clients, as well, here at Valencia Relationship Institute.
Amalia is a client-centered therapist, where she works on meeting clients with a more humanistic approach, with the goal of creating positive outcomes in their overall lives. She also uses a variety of evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused techniques, and motivational interviewing within the therapeutic space. Amalia brings a sense of warmth, compassion, and empathy to her clients, and she is always focused on helping them continue to grow and learn to their highest potential
